The Provincial Council participates in a cross-border identification plan to facilitate access to digital public services for EU citizens and companies
The Provincial Council of Ourense, through the Transparency and Open Government Area, participates in the eID4Spain20 project, which aims to facilitate access to digital public services to all citizens and companies in the European Union offered by the provincial institution. It is a commitment to the development and application of new technologies to speed up relations with the administrations, increase the quality of life of people and face the key challenge of reducing the digital divide.
The program will be "one more step in our vocation for technology and innovation, which underpin our policy of electronic accessibility to all the actions that citizens need, extending this process now to residents in the countries around us," said the provincial president Manuel Baltar.
Since the first requirement for accessing an electronic site is user identification, the Provincial Council is working on the progressive updating of all the procedures that can be carried out electronically, so that both citizens and companies in the European Union can use their national electronic address.
The project, coordinated by the University of Valencia and also involving the Valencian City Council of Torrente and Alcobendas in Madrid, aims to ensure cross-border mobility by supporting and enhancing the digital single market, facilitating the participation of individuals, companies and groups in other territories, in addition to complying with the policies, strategies and activities at national and European level in the field of electronic identification.
The initiative, with a budget of more than 100,000 euros co-financed at 75% by the "Connecting Europe" program, will last 18 months and will represent for the participants and their beneficiaries a further step in the policy of electronic accessibility to all the formalities European citizens need.
