Torrent crosses borders in electronic certification
Torrent City Council is participating in the eID4Spain20 project, an initiative that will facilitate access to Torrent's public electronic services for all citizens and companies in the European Union that use their national electronic identification. More information on their website.
The first requirement for accessing the e-sites is to identify oneself. The town councils will progressively update all the procedures of their electronic offices to work with European identifications. In Torrent, the headquarters will be adapted so that all the necessary procedures can be accessed.
This project, coordinated by the University of Valencia and in which the City Council of Alcobendas and the Provincial Council of Ourense also participate, ensures cross-border mobility and the support and reinforcement of the digital single market. Its main objective is to facilitate citizen and business participation in other territories, in addition to adjusting to the policies, strategies and activities at European and national level, in terms of electronic identification.
The project, 75% co-financed by the European Union's Connecting Europe Facility, has a cost of €103,790 and a duration of 18 months. "This project is a further step in the policy of electronic accessibility to all the process that citizens need. Currently, the council has more than 200 procedures that can be managed telematically and 54% of incoming registrations are made through the electronic headquarters", explained the councilor for European Affairs, Andrés Campos.
