AS4 becomes an ISO International Standard
AS4, the message exchange protocol promoted by the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) eDelivery Building Block, has been approved as an International Standard by the ISO (International Organisation for Standardization). This means that AS4 has now evolved from being not only a Conformance Profile of the OASIS ebMS 3.0 specification but also a standard. Among the positive implications of this decision, it is worth mentioning the potential spread of the AS4 adoption by private and public entities in Europe and beyond, both inside and outside of the IT domain.
This approval directly benefits the objective of AS4EDI19 by improving the confidence in AS4 and its widespread use. For further details about the message exchange protocol, refer to the publication on CEF Website.
In the AS4EDI19 project, coordinated by the IRTIC in collaboration with LMT Group, five certified PEPPOL Access Points (APs) from different Member States (Sweden, Italy and Denmark) are integrating the AS4 with the aim of promoting the use of the eDelivery DSI-Digital Service Infrastructure among private and public entities.
The AS4EDI19 project is co-funded by the European Commission (Action nº 2019-EU-IA-0012) through the Innovation and Networks Executive Agency (INEA), under the CEF Telecom Program.
